Trace Adkins says he appreciates the support of his friends and fans and the actions of the Brentwood Fire Department following a blaze that destroyed his Nashville-area home last weekend.
A statement on his website says he's grateful to the firefighters' "immediate response" to the disaster, and he's "humbled by the outpouring of concern" from his fans and friends. Trace is also encouraging families to go through Fire Safety drills so everyone knows what to do to keep themselves and their loved ones safe by providing information with links to firesafety.gov and firehouse.com.
Adkins was on his way to Alaska for concerts scheduled this week when the fire broke out Saturday afternoon. He returned home as soon as he learned of the blaze. His wife was also away from home, but the two youngest of their three children were at home with a house guest.
Everyone -- including the family's pets -- escaped the burning home unharmed. The house has been called a total loss. No word yet on if Trace will cancel his appearance at the CMA Music Fest This Weekend. Currently his fan club party is scheduled for Sunday June 12th.
