Toby Keith Raises Big Money For Kids

Toby Keith wrapped his 8th annual Toby Keith & Friends Golf Classic with more than $650,000 raised toward construction of the OK Kids Korral.

The “Denim & Diamonds’ themed event was sold out with more than 750 people attending the dinner and auction. The top auction item at the event was a dinner with Toby, which went for $52,000. Twice. That’s right, the top two bidders each won a private meal with the acclaimed entertainer.

The second-highest live auction item was an all-inclusive elk hunt at the Express UU Bar Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico, including private jet transportation, which went for $30,000. Other top items included an all-inclusive Houston Astros suite and a spot in Tiger Woods Celebrity Pro Am. Nothing in the live auction sold for less than $7,000.

The funds collected by the Toby Keith Foundation will go toward construction of the OK Kids Korral home for pediatric cancer patients and families near the OU Medical Center Children’s Hospital. “It’s slow gears turning, but it’s going to be something that Oklahoma City can be really proud of when we’re done with it,” Keith recently told the Oklahoman. “It’s just a long battle.”
