Reba McEntire Blogs With Update

Reba has been keeping fans updated lately through her official blog.  You can read her most recent post below and read back on her other posts HERE.

Update: Good news!!  I’m on my 2nd lesson for Spanish!  That still doesn’t make it right for someone to come up to me and start speaking perfect Spanish and expect me to understand them, okay!!!!????  This will take a little longer than I expected but what I’m very surprised about is, I love it!!!  I’m having a great time learning!

On another note, I’ve had this week off reading and enjoying life!  Mama gave me a book about Rhett Butler’s family, fiction of course, but being a huge fan of “Gone With The Wind”, I’m loving every minute of it.  I also finished a book Chris Rich had recommended to me entitled,  ”A Reliable Wife”.  I have to say I like reading about Rhett better.

We’re taping the video for “If I Were A Boy” this week so keep your fingers crossed for all of us that it goes smoothly and as planned.  Then we’ll be in Florida for three shows with George and LeeAnn.

Hope to see you all soon,
Love,
Reba

‘American Idol’ Judge Steven Tyler Welcomes Country Music

Steven Tyler is fine with country music. In a recent interview with ‘FOX and Friends‘ about his high-profile new gig, Tyler is asked about his feelings about the country genre.

“It’s not like that other guy who said, ‘I hate country,’” Tyler says. “Come on, that’s the one thing that turned me off about the show, when Simon passed on this kid, saying, ‘Besides which I hate country. Not my cup of tea.’”

“If I am judging music, you don’t judge the genre … sorry,” he adds. Country music leaning contestants, like Paris Tassin — who was introduced to ‘Idol’ viewers last week with an emotional performance of Carrie Underwood‘s ‘Temporary Home’ — have a friend in open-minded judge Steven Tyler this season.

Gretchen Wilson Calls Kanye West an ‘A—’ – Gossip Report

Gretchen Wilson was the target of West’s ire in 2004, when he stormed out of the American Music Awards after she bested him in the new artist competition. He subsequently told the press, “I feel like I was definitely robbed … I was the best new artist this year.”

Wilson and West eventually made up, but that truce may end now that the subject reared its head again when CMT reported that Wilson reportedly commented on West’s continued bratty behavior at Wednesday’s Grammy nominees party in Nashville.

“His adrenaline was going and he gets very … he’s a very passionate person, you know?” Wilson mused before opening up about how she really feels. She continued, “What am I talkin’ about? I don’t know him. I don’t know him at all. I think he’s an a— really for acting like that. He really is. He makes quite a spectacle. So grow up! Quit being such a baby! You know, if somebody beats you, it’s because they deserve to beat you. And I don’t know if you remember all the way back to the first time. I outsold you, bro! Do your homework.”

Wilson also takes a bit of pride in knowing that she was West’s “first” — as in the first to incite him. She said, “It’s kinda cool for me to know that I was the first. Kanye, just remember, I was your first. And I’m not above kicking your a—.”

The Paisley Behind The Mask: Is Huck Paisley.  With all the “Hero” shows on TV these days including No Ordinary Family on ABC, The Cape on NBC and the #1 movie in the country being “The Green Hornet”.  It’s understandable.

Many celebrities disguise their children in public, but the Batman mask on Brad Paisley's son Huck isn't an attempt to protect his privacy. It's more like his superhero internship. "Huck's been wearing his Batman costume for a while," Paisley says. "I'm not kidding. He goes everywhere in it. [One time] people came up, this happened out in California, and they saw him in his Batman mask eating at a restaurant. They said, 'We just wanted to say we're really big fans. Do you make him wear that so people can't see his face? Like Michael Jackson?' And I went, 'Yup.'"

It was on fire,” Bentley tweeted. “Not cool.” Not long after that came a Twitter video and another post: “Some footage from last night. Hard to sleep [with] images of flames coming out from under the engine stuck in head.”

In the video, he says, “Every time I hang out with Charles Kelley disaster strikes. Whether it’s flooding … and now we can add fires.”

All the two friends could do was watch it get towed away. Looking at Kelley in the video footage, he adds, “First floods, now fires. Thanks, dude.”

Nashville Resident May Have Found Rare Elvis Presley and Jerry Lee Lewis Recording

Nashville resident Rod Lambert claims to have unearthed an over 30-minute recording of Elvis Presley having a private recording session with Jerry Lee Lewis in 1960, and he wants fans to help authenticate the tape.

Lambert initially picked up the tape at a yard sale, and it lay dormant for over a decade before he dragged it out in January 2009.  “I knew it said Jerry Lee, Elvis [Presley] and Mack Vickery on the tape but I just thought it was some standard songs by these artists. I would buy tapes to record over but when I saw Elvis on it, I couldn’t bring myself to use it and threw it back in the box,” Lambert claims about this possible piece of rock ‘n’ roll history.

The tape reportedly features singing and talking and what could be the only existing duet between Presley and Lewis, both of whom enjoyed rock ‘n’ roll and country music success throughout the course of their legendary careers. Fans can go here and listen to several bites from the tape and then vote in the corresponding ballot box. The votes will be used like a petition and the eventual goal is to have the duet, if it is that, released as a single.

Tim McGraw Recalls Drunk Texts That Helped Him Quit Drinking

Tim McGraw stopped drinking in early 2008, and he admits that the drunken text messages he was sending to his wife Faith Hill back then may have actually helped him quit. At the time, he thought that texting (rather than calling) Hill would cover up his drinking, but he was wrong.

“I only learned how to text because back when I was drinking, I would get in trouble when I called my wife — she’d find out I was drinking,” McGraw tells On the Red Carpet. “Then I started slurring my texts and I figured, ‘Hell, I’ve got to quit drinking. That’s the only thing that’s going to work.’ And Skype, thank God, nobody knew anything about Skype back then. I’d have never stayed out of trouble.”

In a 2009 issue of PEOPLE, McGraw is reported as saying, “Faith has kept me alive. She’s saved my life in a lot of different ways — from myself more than anything. She’s loved me through times when I didn’t love me. I don’t drink anymore. I’m not a moderate person, and I’ll be the first to say there have been times when things were taken to the extreme. It’s time to grow up a bit. Plus, I got really fat.”

Carrie Underwood’s Car Broken Into

Carrie Underwood and her pro hockey player husband Mike Fisher had their rental car broken into while on a trip in Montreal recently.

“We had to call them and be like, ‘We’re sorry! The car is broken,’” Carrie told Minneapolis radio station K102. The experience turned her off to the city, and she says she doesn’t want to return there.

Looking ahead, Underwood is said to have a new tour starting some time this year, with her next gig being May 1 at the Stagecoach Festival in Indio, Calif.

Other dates on the books so far include June 25 in Cadott, Wis., at the Chippewa Valley Music Festival, and then July 8 in Ft. Loramie, Ohio, at the Country Concert at Hickory Hill Lakes.
