Country Strong’ Features Star-Studded soundtrack: Movie Opens January 7th, 2011

The soundtrack for the upcoming film Country Strong, starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Tim McGraw, features tracks by many of country music’s hottest stars.

In addition to song “Country Strong,” which Paltrow lends her vocals, she and McGraw have reportedly recorded a duet for the movie called “Me and Tennessee.”

“‘Me and Tennessee’ is a special song that perfectly fits the movie,” Paltrow tells People.com. “It’s about a couple who are maybe irreparably damaged. But then the chorus is, ‘Then that old song comes on, together we’re singing, forever we’re singing, that old country song.’ So it’s about country music bringing people back together when they’re having a difficult time in life.”  The song, “Me and Tennessee,” was written by Gwyneth’s rocker husband, Chris Martin, of British band Coldplay.

Hillary Scott co-wrote a soundtrack song, “A Little Bit Stronger,” that was cut by Sara Evans.

Faith Hill, Sara Evans, Trace Adkins, Chris Young, Ronnie Dunn, Patty Loveless, and Lee Ann Womack have also recorded songs for the soundtrack that was released on October 26.

Country Strong debuts in theaters everywhere on January 7.
