Josh Turner Can Finally Create in Peace

Josh Turner wanted a place where he could write and be creative, away from any and all distractions. However, the process took a bit longer than he had hoped.

"You know how they say Rome wasn't built in a day? Neither was this writer's cottage," Josh tells The Boot. "It took almost two years to get it finished. I just recently got permission to move into it. It's been a crazy process, but it turned out great.” He also joked that no children will be allowed in his private sanctuary.

Josh discovered he needs a place separate from his life as a musician, husband and father to be able to write songs. "I've found throughout the years that I needed a place where I can go with no TV, no computer, no phone and just have no distractions and just be able to sit and think and just not be disturbed," explains the South Carolina native. "It is a log cabin with a wrap-around porch, [and] it's got a stone chimney fireplace. I want to be able to display a lot of the things that I've been able to accomplish, a lot of who I am in there, not just musically."

Josh has plenty of time to create music over the course of the next couple of months. The father of three -- whose wife gave birth to the couple's third son last month -- is not scheduled to hit the road until his show in Jackson, Miss., on February 14.
