Kenny Chesney Starts "Spread the Love Fund" For Boston

Chesney is establishing the Fund, working with Boston Medical Center to help those affected by the Boston Marathon bombings.

Besides making a sizeable donation for seed money, all of Chesney's proceeds from the downloaded iTunes single sales of "Spread the Love," his track co-written and produced by the Wailers, go to the fund, which will benefit post-acute care for victims of traumatic injuries from the Boston Marathon bombings at BMC or other Boston hospitals.

“It’s hard to imagine a world where taking your children to school, going to the movies or witnessing something as iconic as the Boston Marathon is a dangerous thing to do,” Chesney says. “For me, I want to help give these people as much of their lives back as possible, but I’d also like to counteract some of the negativity in the world… Remind people that there are more good people out there, and it’s up to us to ‘Spread the Love."

Beyond downloading "Spread the Love," giving to those in need is as simple as a click. Donate below to help those most affected by the events of April 15, and "Spread the Love."  Read the official press release here.

Chris Young To Sing National Anthem At Talladega

Two well-known national personalities - country music superstar Chris Young and noted news journalist and recording artist Robin Meade – have been selected to sing the National Anthems during Aaron’s Dream Weekend (May 3-5) at Talladega Superspeedway.

Young will give his rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner” prior to the Saturday, May 4, Aaron’s 312 NASCAR Nationwide Series race, which is scheduled for a 2 pm (CST) start on ESPN. Meade will provide the fans her version on Sunday, May 5, moments before the start of Aaron’s 499 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race, set for a noon (CST) green flag. In addition, Young will deliver Talladega fans an added bonus with a free Saturday night Infield Concert, held near the historic Talladega Boulevard.

“We have two individuals who, with their interpretation of our National Anthem, will give an outstanding performance for our fans,” said Talladega Superspeedway Chairman Grant Lynch. “We’re excited to have Chris sing prior to the start of the Aaron’s 312, and can’t wait for his concert on Saturday night. Robin is not only the ultimate professional delivering the news to us nationally, but is a recording artist with a remarkable singing voice.”

Young is a Grammy nominated vocalist with five number one singles to his credit, including chart-toppers “Voices,” “Tomorrow” and “You.” His career highlights include recent TV appearances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Talk, Katie, ABC’s Nashville and the ACM Awards.  With his rich, warm baritone and penchant for writing relatable, slice-of-life songs, Young, as described by Entertainment Weekly, clearly “has a long, lucrative future ahead of him.” Following the concert at Talladega, he joins the “Beat This Summer Tour” with Brad Paisley, which goes through the fall.

Meade, the longtime host of HLN’s “Morning Express with Robin Meade” releases her sophomore country album in June to iTunes and Target stores. Her debut album “Brand New Day”, won strong reviews in 2011. It featured songs Meade had written, as well as a stunning cover of Don Henley’s “Dirty Laundry”. In addition to her award-winning tv and music careers, Meade’s book “Morning Sunshine! How to Radiate Confidence and Feel It, Too” instantly became a New York Times Bestseller when it was released in 2009.

Friday’s National Anthem prior to the International Motorsports Hall of Fame 250 ARCA Series race will be performed by Amy Knight of Gardendale, AL. She is a member of the acappella oldies group Back In Time.

The most competitive racing in NASCAR combined with a mix of southern hospitality returns to Talladega Superspeedway May 3-5 for the Aaron’s Dream Weekend. Experience the excitement as the superstars of NASCAR attempt to tackle the high-banks of ‘DEGA at 200 mph. Secure your tickets at www.talladegasuperspeedway.com or by calling 877-Go2-DEGA. A Big Bucket List Item Fulfilled

Twelve-year-old Mason Lough of Wellington, KS can scratch playing an arena show with the Zac Brown Band off his bucket list after Saturday's (4/20) opportunity of a lifetime.

A Wichita radio programmer had seen Lough playing ZBB's "Colder Weather" on YouTube and sent the link to Southern Ground's Chuck Swaney, who forwarded it to Clay Cook, the band's keyboard player.

After meeting Lough and his mom at Saturday's Wichita pre-show Eat & Greet, the band invited Mason to play the song solo that night. Watch his performance:

Justin Moore's Third Album Is Almost Ready

Moore is working on the follow-up to his Outlaws Like Me album and just recently he tweeted, “Just wrapped vocals on album #3. Thank God! 16 songs is a lot of singing! Can't wait for y'all to hear this stuff!”

Justin says this new album has a bit of a different sound than his first two, but he didn’t set out to purposely do something different. “I knew exactly what I wanted my first album to be like and sound like and be called. I knew exactly what I wanted my second one to be like,” he explains… With this one, I had no idea what the heck I wanted to do with it, at all.”

But Justin says, “I’m a fan of people who make a different album every time and not the same thing over and over and over.” Fortunately, with the new album he says, “That just kind of came to me with the songs that we heard; songs I wrote.”

A release date hasn’t been announced yet, but the new album, featuring Justin’s latest single, “Point At You,” will be released sometime later this year.

Trace Adkins New Album Gossip

Adkins is will surprise everyone with his newest studio album, 'Love Will,' which is set to be released this spring.

While it has a seemingly love-driven title, it may not be full of romantic, sappy songs, as the title suggests.

In fact, the 51-year-old singer cautions against that expectation.

"Hold on one second! This is an album of love songs but in my book, 'Hot Mama' and [Honky Tonk] Badonkadonk' are love songs!" Adkins explains. "So don't start thinking these are all 'I'll love you 'til the end of time' ballads ... but yeah, we've got those, too."
Adkins' 11th studio album will also feature several special guests, who are yet to be announced.

One of the songs on the new album is Exile's Kiss You All Over.

Newly Painted Belton, Mo. Landmark Reads “Home of Tate Stevens, Live the Dream!”

Stevens is experiencing a lot of firsts this year following his first place finish on FOX's The X Factor, including landing a record deal, releasing new single "Power of a Love Song" to country radio, and his upcoming April 23 self-titled debut album release.  Now Stevens can claim a new "first" as his hometown honors him with an impressive 160' City of Belton water tower, freshly painted with "Home of Tate Stevens, Live the Dream!"

Stevens, a former blue collar road worker for the city, always displayed such appreciation for his small hometown while pursuing his life-long dream of becoming a country music star on The X Factor.  Viewers were captivated by this unassuming Southern gentleman with the powerhouse vocals.  Among those viewers was a contingent of Belton residents, who led the charge to raise 100% the funds for the water tower repainting and dedication.

“It’s moments like this that really make me smile,” shares Stevens. “The support I’ve felt from the community is incredible, and I hope I can continue to make them proud. I’m so incredibly humbled by this honor.”

Belton officials unveiled the landmark, located near Stevens' home off Interstate 49 and M-58 Highway on Sunday, March 31 with the formal dedication, which Stevens will attend, scheduled for Monday, April 22, with media call-time at 10:30a.m. CDT.  Stevens will perform a sold out show in Kansas City, Mo. at the Midland by AMC on Sunday, but fans can still purchase a limited number of tickets to his Monday night performance here.

Meet The Newest Country Music Hall Of Fame Inductees

Bobby Bare, "Cowboy" Jack Clement, and Kenny Rogers will become the newest members of the revered Country Music Hall of Fame.

Rogers will be inducted in the "Modern Era Artist" category, while Bare will be inducted in the "Veterans Era Artist" category. Clement will be inducted in the "Non-Performer" category, which is awarded every third year in a rotation with the "Recording and/or Touring Musician Active Prior to 1980," and "Songwriter" categories.

"I had no idea this was coming," new Country Music Hall- of-Famer Kenny Rogers told a crowd gethered in the Rotunda at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. "I have an older son that said, 'Dad, I thought you were in the Hall of Fame 20 years ago. And I say, you know what ... it's not when you get there, it's that you get there."

"This is big – an honor and the validation of a dream, totally unexpected," said Bare. "Now I'll be famous forever. Thanks to all of my supporters and thank you CMA."

"I've been chosen for the Country Music Hall of Fame? I thought I was already in the Hall of Fame," said Clement. "I could have gotten in there any time I wanted. Kyle [Young] gave me a key."

"When I was young, my dad said, 'Son, you have to think big to accomplish small' and the Country Music Hall of Fame was as big as it gets," said Rogers. "He wanted that for me. So every record I've ever made, every concert I've performed, and every song I've written was done for the single purpose of achieving that goal.

Bare, Clement, and Rogers will increase membership in the coveted Country Music Hall of Fame from 118 to 121 members.

Eric Church Celebrates Two ACM Award Wins

Church is not only celebrating winning the coveted Album of The Year award (CHIEF) and Vocal Event Of The Year award (“The Only Way I Know,” J. Aldean, L. Bryan, E. Church) during Sunday night’s 48th Annual Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards show, but also the release of his first live album to stores nationwide and digital retailers today. Caught In The Act: Live, a 17-track live concert recorded over the course of two nights at Chattanooga’s Tivoli Theatre in October 2012 features songs from Sinners Like Me, Carolina and his award-winning 2011 release, CHIEF. A double gatefold vinyl version of the record will be made available on National Record Store Day, Saturday, April 20. The package will include four additional tracks and a special whiskey-infused 7-inch.

The release of Caught In The Act: Live is fans’ first chance to take home a copy of Church’s live show - the only of the country genre to be named "Best Concerts Of 2012" by The New York Times who calls it, “a mean show,” and adds, “Mr. Church has clawed his way into the country mainstream with a series of post-outlaw anthems, and delivered them with verve and tension.”

AP praises, "Church constantly encourages his rowdy audience, exhorting them to bellow the chorus of 'Drink in My Hand' and 'Jack Daniels.' Even when he plays a solo acoustic version of 'Sinners Like Me,' he tells everyone, 'It's just going to be us, so sing loud.'"

The Salt Lake Tribune writes, “With sterling musicianship, a voice with the right balance of grit and twang, and songs of conviction that shine with improvisation ('Springsteen,' for one, opens with an elegiac piano and ends with an echo of 'Born to Run'), this live album is alive.”

View EPK footage from the recording of Caught In The Act: Live here.

Earning recognition from Pollstar in 2012 as one of the highest-attended tours, Church sold nearly a million tickets on his first-ever headlining tour, The Blood, Sweat & Beers Tour. Fans can catch him performing select dates on Kenny Chesney's No Shoes Nation tour, and he will continue The Blood, Sweat and Beers Tour this summer through fall which will include a stop at Lollapalooza on August 2 in Chicago, Ill.

Kellie Pickler's Dance For Her Romance

Pickler told Ellen DeGeneres that she and her dance partner, Derek Hough, will dance to a very special song on Monday night’s Dancing With The Stars. In honor of the show’s theme of the week, “Most Memorable Year,” Pickler chose to dance to one from 2011— the year she married her husband, Nashville songwriter, Kyle Jacobs. Click here to watch her reveal the announcement to Ellen.

Kellie and Hough will dance the rumba to “Say I Do,” a romantic ballad written by Jacobs for Pickler shortly before their wedding day – and to top it off, Jacobs will perform the song in person on the show Monday night with the help of the Dancing With The Stars house band.
“It’s going to be an 100 percent emotional moment, and I’m just hoping I can keep it together,” Jacobs says. “Kellie’s doing so well on the show, and she’s having so much fun. The fact that she’s dancing to this song, our song, means so very much to both of us… it honors the love that we have so much.”
When asked how Jacobs feels about his wife dancing with Hough each week, Pickler sweetly told Ellen, “My husband knows he’s always going to get the last dance.”

Tune in to Dancing With The Stars on ABC on Monday at 8 p.m. EDT / 7 CDT to watch.

Sammy Kershaw's Home Catches Fire, Suffers Major Smoke Damage

KERSHAW's Lafayette, Louisiana home sustained heavy smoke damage after a fire broke out in the country star's kitchen.

Sammy inadvertently started the fire when he grabbed cans of homemade spices he was delivering to a friend.  The box containing the spices slid over the kitchen stove, catching the knobs that ignite the burners.  Kershaw says there were likely flammable items on the stovetop that caught fire.

After leaving his home, his alarm company alerted him of the blaze.  Kershaw immediately returned home and threw towels onto the stovetop to help smother the flames. Shortly after, firefighters arrived at the scene to extinguish the blaze.

"You've got to count your blessings... every one of them," says Kershaw.  "This could have been so much worse.  The guardian angel that God assigned to me is always working overtime."

No one was injured in the blaze.
