Brad Paisley Creates Father's Day Gift For His Firefighter Dad

Brad's dad Doug loved this musical tribute to the heroes of the profession. The country star wrote and sings the final song in the animated film Planes: Fire & Rescue, called All In, which highlights firefighter bravery and sacrifice. Paisley sings an additional song in the film due out July 18 and makes a voice cameo appearance.

Among All In's lyrics: Without hesitation in the face of fear and doubt/There's smoke and flames and everybody needs out/They're all in.

After performing songs on the animated hits Cars (2006) and Cars 2 (2011), Paisley became close friends with John Lasseter, the chief creative officer of Pixar and Disney Animation Studios

Lasseter suggested Paisley's role in the new film, about firefighting planes."The movie is essentially a tribute to firefighters told through these planes," says Paisley, 41. "When John pitched the idea, he said it was a way of paying tribute to my dad. My brother-in-law is also a firefighter in Tennessee.
These guys run toward the problem that everyone else is fleeing from." The follow-up to 2013's Planes features the main character Dusty Crophopper (voiced by Dane Cook) training to fight fires at fictitious Piston Peak National Park

"We're obviously thrilled to have a three-time Grammy Aaward-winner performing two songs," says director Roberts Gannaway. "But the fact that he has this connection to the heart of our film, the firefighters, well that was just fantastic."

Brad Paisley Has One Less Hat Thanks To Heidi Klum

Paisley has been busy.  He recently filmed a guest star role on the ABC TV show ‘Nashville’ airing later this month.  He just kicked off his ‘Beat This Winter’ Tour this past weekend too, where Dan Van from Albright & O’Malley & Brenner caught up with him about the social media chatter concerning if it was proper for Heidi Klum to take his hat (click to see the photo).

At the end of ‘The Mona Lisa,’ performance during last Wednesday night’s ‘People’s Choice Awards Brad made his way down, into the crowd, and supermodel Heidi Klum snatched his hat balancing it on top of her head. Paisley finished the performance hatless.

Some of the postings on social media that night had the ladies wondering if Brad was upset about the move from Heidi.  So Albright & O’Malley & Brenner caught up with Brad back stage on his tour this past Saturday night in Louisville.

“No I had no problem with, it’s totally ok for her to take my hat,” Brad tells Dan Van “It was a fun moment!” One of Brad’s team workers chimed in with a point to think about too, “Heck it was Heidi Klum!”

Brad says that it was such an impressive move from Heidi she kept the hat.  Brad was happy to allow her to have it as well.

Brad And Carrie Are Back!

Country superstars Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will be returning to host “Country Music’s Biggest Night™” for the sixth consecutive time in 2013. “The 47th Annual CMA Awards” airs live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Wednesday, Nov. 6 (8:00-11:00 PM/ET) on the ABC Television Network.

The popular hosts used “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock” to make the announcement when the concert special aired tonight on ABC.

“Carrie and Brad are the consummate hosts,” said Ed Hardy, President of the CMA Board of Directors. “They have the respect of our industry, artistic credibility, critical acclaim, and a quick-witted, genuine rapport that makes them popular with our audience and the viewers at home. We are delighted to have them back as hosts for the sixth year.”

Paisley has won 14 CMA Awards since receiving the Horizon Award (now the New Artist Award) in 2000, including Entertainer of the Year (2010), Male Vocalist (2007, 2008, 2009) and Album (2006 for Time Well Wasted). He won Musical Event of the Year three times, first in 2004 with Alison Krauss for “Whiskey Lullaby,” second in 2006 for “When I Get Where I’m Going” with Dolly Parton, and a third time in 2009 for “Start a Band” with Keith Urban. He claimed the Vocal Event of the Year trophy in 2001 for “Too Country” with Bill Anderson, George Jones, and Buck Owens; and won Music Video of the Year four times, first in 2002 for “I’m Gonna Miss Her (The Fishin’ Song),” second in 2004 for “Whiskey Lullaby” (with Krauss), third in 2007 for “Online,” and fourth in 2008 for "Waitin' on a Woman" (featuring Andy Griffith). He is No. 5 on the list of top CMA Awards winners of all time.

Paisley is a critically acclaimed singer, songwriter, guitarist and entertainer, who has earned numerous awards and accolades, as well as being a proud member of the Grand Ole Opry. Since his first No. 1 single in 1999 he has placed 22 singles at the top of the charts, his most recent from his acclaimed new album, Wheelhouse, which features his new single, “I Can’t Change the World,” as well as the back-to-back No. 1 hits, “Southern Comfort Zone” and “Beat This Summer.” This is Paisley’s first self-produced project and he wrote or co-wrote all tracks on the album. Underwood has received five CMA Awards in her career – only six other female solo artists have received more including Dolly Parton (nine), Loretta Lynn (eight), and Allison Krauss (eight). Like Tammy Wynette (1968-1970), Underwood has won three consecutive Female Vocalist of the Year trophies (2006-2008), as well as Single of the Year (2007 for “Before He Cheats”), and the Horizon Award (2006). Her 15 career CMA Awards nominations include two for Album of the Year for Carnival Ride (2008) and Play On (2010); two nominations for Music Video of the Year for “Jesus Take the Wheel” (2006) and “Before He Cheats” (2007); and Musical Event of the Year for “I Told You So” featuring Randy Travis (2009). She has been nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year every year since winning in 2006 (2006-2012).

Since releasing her debut album in 2005, Underwood has sold more than 15 million albums and placed 17 No. 1 singles on the charts, eight of which she co-wrote. Her current album, Blown Away, made history by debuting at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, making Underwood only the second Country artist in the 47-year history of the chart to have each of their first four albums debut at No. 1. The Platinum-selling Blown Away also debuted at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart, making her only the second Country artist in history to have three consecutive albums debut at No. 1. Underwood’s recently wrapped “Blown Away Tour” launched in the spring of 2012 and continued through May 2013, for a total of 112 dates in 110 cities, 6 countries, and 3 continents, playing for more than 1 million fans and selling out every concert this year.

The CMA Awards nominees and winners are determined by more than 7,000 industry professional members of CMA, which was the first trade organization formed to promote an individual genre of music in 1958.

Brad Paisley Fans "Feed Our Vets"

It was the second year in a row that award-winning singer/songwriter Paisley invited Feed Our Vets to set up its trailer during his sold-out concert at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center two weeks ago and the results are now in.

The venue hosted a food collection contest as part of the event, with the winner earning front-row seats to the concert and a meet-and-greet with Paisley. John and Jill Bailey of Albany were the winners, bringing in a hefty 346 pounds of groceries.  The concert netted a total of 900 pounds of food and $400 in donations for Feed Our Vets.
“You can’t get much greater attention than when someone like Brad Paisley puts you in the spotlight,” said Richard Synek, founder and Executive Director of Feed Our Vets. “Brad is a great friend to Feed Our Vets. He cares deeply about helping to ensure that our veterans  have adequate food and shelter for themselves and their families, and we’re grateful to call him a partner in our effort to do that.”
Paisley commended Feed Our Vets for its tireless efforts to help struggling soldiers. “You’re doing wonderful things for our veterans. God bless you,” he told Synek.

Founded specifically to reduce hunger among American heroes, Feed Our Vets operates food pantries in Utica and Watertown, and a mobile pantry that distributes food to veterans in underserved rural communities in upstate New York. The organization also supports veterans nationwide to make sure that they have access to sufficient food for themselves and their families.

Nearly 3 million American soldiers and their families don’t have enough to eat each month. More than 100,000 veterans are homeless and hungry on any given night, and about 1.5 million American heroes are at risk of becoming homeless and hungry. Synek said the food collected at the concert would provide meals to many deserving New York veterans and their families.

Country Revs Up For The Fourth

Billboard Magazine notes that Independence Day is a holiday for much of America, but not everyone. "Among the folks who still have to work: newspaper carriers, convenience-store clerks and a bunch of country artists.  Given the all-American image country acts are so careful to cultivate, working the Fourth is a no-brainer, and the genre will be in full force around the nation when festivities gear up on July 4. Here’s a partial rundown of country’s red, white and blue plans:"

LP Stands For Long-Playing

Although not really using their seats, a sold-out crowd still got their money's worth at the first of four CMA Music Festival shows at Nashville's LP Field Thursday evening (6/7).

Eight artists performed 45 songs in a show that lasted more than four hours.

Glen Campbell opened and was warmly received by a crowd obviously sympathetic to Alzheimer-stricken icon's occasional moments of confusion.

At times he struggles to find lyrics to signature songs including "Gentle On My Mind" and "Rhinestone Cowboy," but guitar work is as fluid and brilliant as ever.
