Blake Shelton To Release New Album July 12

Blake Shelton will release his ninth album on July 12. Produced by multi-award winner Scott Hendricks, the forthcoming album will include Shelton’s fastest rising single to date, “Honey Bee.”

“There are so many things I’m excited to share with everyone this year,” said Shelton. “I can’t wait for people to hear the record; I have found some of the best songs of my career. I also think people will be surprised at all the talent they will see on ‘The Voice.’ There were so many great vocalists who just blew me away and it has been the coolest thing to be part of it all.”

Blake says he's heading into the new NBC reality series "The Voice" with an open mind.

Blake says he'll pick his team based on the contestants' vocal abilities, not the material they perform. He told "Parade" magazine, "I think people are going to expect me to pick the first guy that steps up here and sings a George Strait song. I may, if I think he's a great singer, but I may also pick a girl who comes up here and sings an Aretha Franklin song."

But Blake admits he can't describe what he'll be listening for, adding, "I just know what I like when I hear it and it's really hard to explain. It's just something that happens."
