Billy Ray Cyrus Is “Mending” His Family

Billy Ray Cyrus is making headlines again this week.  Billy canceled a media trip, which included a guest appearance on 'The View' yesterday.

PopEater.com says Billy cancelled a scheduled appearance on ABC's "The View" in light of his daughter Miley's objections. An unidentified family friend tells the website that Miley "went nuts" when she learned that Billy Ray was planning a trip to New York to appear on the talk show. The source explains that after Billy Ray's controversial "GQ" interview, team Miley wasn't going to let him visit "The View" and, quote, "talk more crap about his family."

Last week, Cyrus’s interview with GQ magazine spread like wildfire over the Internet. In the candid interview, Billy revealed that he believes the Disney Channel show Hannah Montana “destroyed my family” and that he was “scared for” his daughter Miley.

This week, Billy Ray tells People, “It is very important to me to work on mending my family right now.” He also calls his recent comments, “explosive, and unintentionally so” and goes on to say, “My family is the most important thing I have, and we are working together to make sure our future is stronger and healthier.”

Pick up the latest issue of People for more. Miley is scheduled to appear on 'Saturday Night Live' March 5, where the 18-year-old will take over the show's hosting duties for the night.
