Lady Antebellum Expected To Lead Grammy Nominations
Although the Grammy nominations won’t be announced until December 1, with the CMA AWARDS wrapping up last night industry folks are speculating that Lady Antebellum will lead the nominations for the Grammys.
“Need You Now,” the song and the album, are both expected to get nominations including Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Album of the Year.
There’s not many other country artists being mentioned among the speculation. Although last year’s Best New Artist trophy went to a country artist (Zac Brown Band), it doesn’t seem likely the trophy will head back to Nashville this year. Luke Bryan and Chris Young are both being mentioned in that category, but both are considered a long shot.
The nominees will be announced Dec. 1 during the third annual “Grammy Nominations Concert Live: Countdown to Music’s Biggest Night” concert. The ceremony will air on CBS on Feb. 13, 2011.
