Skipping Out On Mean

Taylor Swift is apparently a little over the whole awards show scene.

Taylor, a usual awards show staple, chose to skip this year's MTV 2011 Video Music Awards despite being nominated for Best Video with a Message category for Mean.

Instead of getting all gussied up and walking the red carpet, Taylor reportedly spent her Sunday shopping at a local flea market.

A much funner way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon if you ask me. 

It all ended up okay, though, since Taylor lost out to Lady Gaga who won the VMA's new video with a message category for her Born This Way.
