No Singing on Monday Night Football

The Detroit Free Press reports that famous local athletes will handle the ‘Monday Night Football’ intro each week.

In this week's game between the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears, there was no singing. It’s the first home appearance on ‘Monday Night Football’ for the Lions in 10 years. Barry Sanders will be featured in the intro.

ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz indicated it was the format the company would use for the remainder of the season.

Hank Williams Jr. was released from his intro duties after using President Obama and Hitler in an analogy on an episode of ‘Fox and Friends.’ He had sang the introduction for over 20 years.
