Currington is poised to hit the top of the country charts with his latest hit, “We Are Tonight,” which has become an anthem for the Summer of 2014.
When asked what three of his favorite summertime tunes were, he said, “Three favorite summer songs? One – ‘Pour Some Sugar on Me’ Def Leppard; 'Hells Bells,' ACDC [laughs]; and oh, baby, ‘[Make It] Hurt So Good,’ John Mellencamp.”
The Georgia native will take his summer trek to West Fargo, North Dakota on Friday and Madison, Nebraska on Saturday.

Billy Currington In The New York Times
Houston-based journalist Kate Murphy got a great quote from Billy on eating: "I had the opportunity to go to Ocean City, Md., recently. Have you ever heard of it? They hooked me up with the biggest blue crabs you have ever seen. We feasted on those things for days. I grew up catching and eating seafood but there’s something about crabs up there that is very special."
Listening: "To be honest the music I listen to the most, whether it’s in my truck or in the house, is songwriter demos. Demos are when a songwriter makes a recording of a song just to pitch it to an artist. I get hundreds a year. I’ll put them on an iPod or my computer and listen to them over and over and file away the ones I like the most, and those are usually the songs I end up putting on an album a year or two or 10 later. Some of my favorite songs are from one gal named Karyn Rochelle. She’s a magnificent writer in Nashville. I’ve wanted to record every one of her songs but for various rhymes and reasons I haven’t been able to yet."Click the link to see what he's reading, watching and following too. Love Done Gone--The Inside Scoop
Billy Currington really likes his current single, "Love Done Gone
" and credits the track's catchy "bah bah bah" refrain to songwriter Shawn Camp.
Camp teamed up with Marv Green to write "Love Done Gone," and Billy says he's known for a while the track was going to be a single. He was also confident early on that it would be a hit explaining that the song has always received a strong response when he's performed it in concert, and it got the stamp of approval from his friends back home who "tell you what's real and what's not real."
"Love Done Gone" is the third single from Currington's fourth CD, "Enjoy Yourself." Fans are likely hearing Billy sing "Love Done Gone" in concert this summer as well.
He's opening shows on Kenny Chesney's "Goin' Coastal" tour.

Currington Has A Secret Guitar
Billy Currington has written most of his songs on a classical, acoustic guitar he got in Nashville. As you can imagine, Billy's had some great times and late nights writing songs with some of Nashville's top songwriters. It leads you to wonder what that guitar might say if it could talk. Billy says with a laugh, "Oh, it couldn't tell you. It's got a lot of secrets."
Billy's guitar doesn't have a name, it does have something in common with Willie Nelson's iconic guitar, "Trigger," which has a big hole in it from being played so much. Billy's guitar is doing the same thing. He says, "It's starting to wear that hole in it, I guess from many years of your fingernails are hitting that one spot. So, it's becoming my Willie guitar."
Billy continues playing for fans opening for Kenny Chesney on his North American Tour.
