Garth And Kenny Can Still Move Crowds AND Tickets!
Garth Brooks has beaten his personal record for tickets sold in Atlanta. The record was previously set at the Omni, March 13th -17th, 1996, with 81,902 paid tickets. Garth has now surpassed that number and is still selling.
Two shows were put on sale this morning then two shows were added, making Garth the only artist to ever sell seven consecutive shows at the Philips Arena. The previous record was held by Elvis Presley, with four shows.
The dates are, September 19th 6:30 PM and 10:30 PM, September 20th 6:30 PM and 10:30 PM, September 21 7:30 PM, September 26 7:30 PM, September 27 7:30 PM.
Tickets will cost $56.94 plus $4.56 tax, a $4.00 facility fee and a $6.00 service charge, totaling $71.50. There is a six ticket limit. They can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com, 1-800-745-3000 or Ticketmaster Express 1-866-448-7849. Please note there will be no sales at the venue box office or Ticketmaster outlets.
There was a pirate ship, inflatable crafts, yachts, shrimp boats, skidoos and paddle boards when the No Shoes Nation took the beach behind the legendary Flora-Bama Lounge. At straight up 5pm, Kenny Chesney walked down the strut in orange cargos, a grey t-shirt and a ball cap, strummed a chord and sang, “Sittin’ here at the Flora-Bama/ Bout to open up a big ole can o’/ good times...”
The crowd of over 40,000 – coming from as far away as Oregon, Ohio, South Carolina, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Arizona – was primed, singing along to the song just released as an Instant Grat Track to celebrate the stadium show without a stadium. For Chesney, who took 2014 off the road to concentrate on making The Big Revival, hearing the crowd so loud moved him.
“Man, when those people kicked in and started singing ‘Flora-Bama’ back to me, that just hit me in the heart,” says the man The Los Angeles Times called "The People’s Superstar” of the crowd’s response. “A year without touring takes me away from that, and those fans... whether they know it or not... inspire me. So having spent the year writing and recording, that was like plugging into the source.”
Evidently--Chesney’s 32-song set lasted two and a half hours. Mixing old favorites “How Forever Feels” and “Don’t Happen Twice,” acoustic numbers “Old Blue Chair,” “You and Tequila” and the acoustic-turning-full-impact “When I See This Bar,” he also brought out frequent co-writer David Lee Murphy as a surprise, trading verses on Murphy’s hits “Dust On The Bottle” and “Party Crowd.”
“Since David Lee wrote ‘Flora-Bama’ with me, I know he knows about the heart and the soul of the people down here, how much they love music and love life,” Chesney says of the walk-on. “There’s a real vibe when people connected with the moment experience something that moves them... and David Lee had’em singing along his songs, too.”
For Chesney, his stadium stage sitting on the sand wasn’t even coloring outside the lines. Employing his sound system for those shows, as well as relay speakers around the 1/3 of a mile imprint – and also speakers pointed to sea for the boaters, it was a show beyond proportion. People started arriving yesterday, and were in line all night to get in.
“We had the No Shoes Navy, the No Shoes Nation, people who aren’t afraid to get out there and live and just experience the moment. The fact that we could announce this show two weeks ago, build it and have that kind of response to a crazy notion I had – one that started out with playing a little Keg show in the upstairs of the club and turned into a great big show on the beach? It says a lot about my team, the Flora-Bama’s John McInnis and Cameron Rice and especially the people who came from all over to be here with us.”
Filmed by Shaun Silva for a TV special this fall, Chesney and band took the tailgate vibe of his shows and distilled it. Bikinis, shorts, tank tops, sunburns and ball caps, the dress code was casual and the mood was great. As the 4-time CMA and 4-time ACM Entertainer of the Year said, “It was a party. It was a day at the beach. It was a good time. But mostly, it was the gathering of the No Shoes Nation for the music, and the fun, and just getting to see each other.”

Trisha To CMT: "We're Moving To Nashville"

"I have loved living in Oklahoma," Yearwood told me when she was in Chicago on Sunday (March 16). "It's been a great place to raise our girls, and the thing I'll miss the most is that I've made some of the best friends I'll ever have. But we'll always be best friends."
Because Brooks' youngest daughter will be leaving for college this fall, that means that their Oklahoma nest will be officially empty. So Yearwood told me that means she and Brooks are ready for the next chapter.
"Garth and I have always sort of been gypsies. If you do this for a living, home for us is really just where we are together," she said. So now they will hang their hats in Nashville, and Yearwood is looking forward to it.
"There's an energy about Nashville that I love and I miss. And it's so awesome right now. It has a new energy that's so cool," Yearwood said. "And it makes sense because it's been a bit of a challenge to not live there and to have to fly in and out for work."
But she wouldn't trade her years in Oklahoma for anything. That's where she and Brooks lived in order to be close to his three daughters from his first marriage.
"It's been the right thing to be at home. But Garth and I both feel like the job of being home every day and going to every soccer practice, that job is coming to an end for us. And so it's time for us to do the next thing," she said, "and we're excited for whatever's next for us."

Garth Brooks Announces "New Year Las Vegas Full Band Blowout"
After more than four years of sold out one-man shows inside the Encore
Theater at Wynn Las Vegas and a top-rated live television concert event
this past Thanksgiving Weekend, Wynn Las Vegas is proud to announce a Garth Brooks show like Las Vegas has never seen, “Garth Brooks: The Man,
His Band and His Music,” on Jan. 3 and 4, 2014 at 7 and 10:30 p.m.
Garth’s relationship with Wynn Las Vegas began in 2009 when he announced that he was out of retirement to enter a multi-year engagement inside the Encore Theatre at Wynn Las Vegas. The show has been hailed by the Los Angeles Times as “genius,” by EW.com as an “absolute revelation” and Oprah Winfrey deemed it as the “hottest ticket.”
Most recently, Garth starred in a CBS concert special on Black Friday that was viewed by 8.7 million people nationwide and concurrently released a new box set including new music from the singer exclusively sold at Walmart.
While Brooks’ critically acclaimed one-man shows at Wynn Las Vegas focused on the musical influences that Brooks credits for his own sound and becoming the number one selling solo artist in U.S. history, the New Year’s Eve weekend shows will consist of the country music legend’s own repertoire of chart-topping songs accompanied by his full band.
Tickets go on sale Friday, Dec. 6 at 10 a.m. PST for $200 per ticket (not inclusive of taxes and fees) at www.wynnlasvegas.com, www.ticketmaster.com or by phone at 702-770-1000 or 800-745-3000.
Certified by the RIAA in 2000 as the number one selling solo artist in U.S. history, Garth Brooks has sold in excess of 128 million albums and has received every accolade the recording industry can bestow on an artist.

“I’ve been itching for the chance to bring my band to Vegas to play this room,” said Brooks. “I can’t wait. Steve Wynn told me I could use the theater anytime. I asked him when I could start and his response was, ‘How about New Year’s Eve?’”

The Final Performance of Garth Brooks' Critically Acclaimed One-Man Show Tonight On CBS-TV
It has been exactly one month since Brooks performed for tonight's rare live broadcast concert special, "GARTH BROOKS, LIVE FROM LAS VEGAS," from the Encore Theater at the Wynn Las Vegas (9:00 - 11:00 PM LIVE ET/ delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network.
It's Brooks' final performance of his critically acclaimed, one man show which has played to sold out audiences for the past three years in a very intimate setting, playing his guitar as he takes the audience through the musical journey that led him to become the number one selling solo artist in U.S. history. He will share his experiences listening to different musicians throughout his life, starting with the music of Merle Haggard and George Jones. Then, other musicians who influenced him like Simon & Garfunkel, James Taylor, Otis Redding, Bob Seger, George Strait and many, many, more. Throughout the show, Garth will perform some of their classic songs and show you how they influenced his greatest hits.
"Blame it all on my roots," said Brooks, "This is the soundtrack of my life. Growing up the last of six kids, music was the life blood of our family and as you can imagine, mom, dad, and each kid had his or her own favorite stuff and it all funneled down to me."
"We're thrilled whenever we get the opportunity to create a television event with an amazing live performer, and there is no one better than Garth Brooks," said Jack Sussman, Executive Vice President, Specials & Events. "Garth will give the audience a rare opportunity to not only hear his classic hits, but also the music that became the soundtrack of his life and how those influences from the country, rock and pop worlds set him on the road to become the biggest selling solo artist in history."
In 2009, Brooks announced that he was out of retirement and entered a multi-year "relationship" with Las Vegas resort developer Steve Wynn for performances at his Encore Theatre at the Wynn Las Vegas. The show has been hailed by the Los Angeles Times as "genius," by EW.com as an "absolute revelation," and Oprah Winfrey deemed it the "hottest ticket."

George Strait And Garth Brooks To Perform Together
GeorgeStrait and Garth Brooks, the two most recent ACM Artist of theDecade Award recipients, will perform together for the first time in history to
pay tribute to Dick Clark at the 48th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY
MUSIC AWARDS, to be broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las
Vegas Sunday, April 7 (8:00 PM-11:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS
Television Network. The ACM Artist of the Decade Award will be renamed the ACM
Dick Clark Artist of the Decade Award, in honor of the iconic figure and
longtime producer of the ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS. The ceremony, to be
co-hosted by Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton, honors country music’s top talent,
as well as the industry’s hottest emerging artists.
Dick Clark, who passed away last
year, began producing the Academy of Country Music Awards in 1979 and helped
introduce audiences all over America to the most talented artists in country
music. Clark had long been an ambassador for a wide-range of musical genres and
with his guidance, ushered the Academy of Country Music Awards through the
decades to become one of the industry’s biggest events.
“It is truly appropriate that we
pay tribute to my father, longtime ACM Awards executive producer Dick Clark. As
one of the current executive producers and Dick’s son, I’m honored that George
and Garth graciously accepted my personal request to pay tribute to a man we
all loved,” stated R.A. Clark.
“He was a friend to all of us and
helped shape our organization. There’s no doubt the Academy of Country
Music wouldn’t be one of the highest-rated and watched awards shows without
Dick’s vision and commitment,” commented Bob Romeo, CEO of the Academy of
Country Music.
“Dick helped make country music
accessible to a larger fan base and his efforts will not be forgotten. Garth and
I were so grateful when we each received the ACM Artist of the Decade Award, so
it’s only fitting that we’ll be honoring him with this tribute performance at
the ACMs,” said George Strait.
“I commend the Academy on naming
the ACM Artist of the Decade Award after Dick Clark. Although there is no
award the entertainment industry has that can match the magnitude of the star
Dick Clark was, and still is, it is an honor to get to be a part of the
Academy’s tribute to him. There may be others who have contributed
as much to the music industry, but there is definitely no one that has
contributed more than Dick Clark. He was music’s best friend, and a
dear friend to me,” said Garth Brooks.
Recipients of the ACM Artist of
the Decade Award include Strait in 2009, Brooks in 1998, Alabama in 1988,
Loretta Lynn in 1979 and Marty Robbins in 1969. The ACM Dick Clark Artist of
the Decade Award is an Academy honor bestowed on a country music artist only
once every decade.
Performers:
George Strait has won
twenty Academy of Country Music Awards, including the Artist of the Decade
award, an award that has only been given to four other acts in the Academy’s
history. He also holds the record for the most No. 1 hits on the Billboard
Hot Country Songs chart. He has sold more than 68 million records,
garnering him 32 different platinum or multi-platinum albums resulting in the
most RIAA platinum certifications in country music and the third in all genres,
behind The Beatles and Elvis Presley. Strait recently released his newest
single, “Give It All We Got Tonight”—the first release from his forthcoming
2013 album, Love is Everything, due in stores on May 14. Strait
also placed #1 on Pollstar’s Concert Pulse chart in March after the
first leg of his on-going two-year final U.S. tour, “The Cowboy Rides Away
Tour” with special guest Martina McBride.
Garth Brooks is a
pivotal figure in the history of country music, garnering over twenty ACM
Awards, including six Entertainer of the Year Awards, an Artist of the Decade
award, and a Cliffie Stone Pioneer Award, honoring individuals who are pioneers
in the country music genre. Certified by the RIAA in 2000 as the
#1-selling solo artist in U.S. history, Brooks has
sold in excess of over 128 million albums and has received every accolade the
recording industry can bestow on an artist. With his commercially savvy fusion
of post-Merle Haggard country, honky-tonk, post-folk-rock sensitive
singer/songwriter sensibilities, and '70s arena rock dramatics, Brooks brought
country music to a new audience in the '90s —
namely, a mass audience. Before Brooks, it was inconceivable for a country
artist to go multi-platinum. He shattered that barrier in 1991, when his second
album, No Fences, began its chart domination, and its follow-up, Ropin'
the Wind, became the first country album to debut at the top of the pop
charts. He is currently raising his children in Oklahoma.
