Kellie Pickler Dances With The Stars Again

The country music singer/songwriter returned to “Dancing with the Stars” last night to perform her current single “Little Bit Gypsy” from her recently released album, The Woman I Am. It was Pickler’s last night as the reigning Mirror Ball Trophy winner, and she praised this season’s final four contestants during her chat with host Tom Bergeron.

Later this week, Pickler will perform in “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade” on Thursday, Nov. 28, from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM/ET on NBC.   

 

Next week, she will perform the Christmas classic “Man with the Bag” on “CMA Country Christmas” on Monday, Dec. 2 from 9:00-11:00 PM/ET on ABC. And, she was recently announced as a performer for the “American Country Awards” on Tuesday, Dec. 10 from 8:00-10:00 PM/ET on FOX. 

 

Pickler is nominated for an ACA Award for Music Video of the Year - Female for "Someone Somewhere Tonight" from The Woman I Am.

Toby Keith Goes Down Under In 2014

TK will make his first-ever concert appearances in Australia , bringing his Hammer Down Under Tour to Australia for a series of massive arena concerts next March. Keith will also headline the 2014 CMC Rocks the Hunter festival at the Hope Estate in NSW's beautiful Hunter Valley.

Joining Keith on the tour will be special guest stars ELI YOUNG BAND and KELLIE PICKLER.

Kellie Pickler and dance partner Derek Hough won season sixteen of ABC-TV's Dancing with the Stars.

Relive their triumph through this new spotlight exhibit, featuring Pickler's costume and trophy, starting today at The Country Music Hall Of Fame.

Then, next week, explore the intricate costumes and accessories featured in the new Carrie Underwood: The Blown Away Tour Exhibition, and learn about the designers who created stage wear for Underwood and for other artists who have clothing displayed in the Museum. Participants in this hands-on workshop will design their own paper guitar, paper microphone, or handkerchief using fabric swatches, rhinestones, glitter, sequins, ribbons, and fringe. Ages 5 to 15. Free. Presented in support of Carrie Underwood: The Blown Away Tour Exhibition.

Kellie Pickler To Host (And Perform!) On ABC-TV's "The View" Tuesday

Fresh off her win of ABC’s "Dancing With The Stars," the starlet will talk about her own hot topics alongside Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sherri Shepherd and Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

Additionally, Pickler will perform her new single, “Someone Somewhere Tonight,” for the first time on television. The song will be featured on her upcoming new album, which will be released later this year.

Rolling Stone recently reviewed the single, stating, "With 'Someone Somewhere Tonight,' her winning streak continues...her big, open-throated singing sells the emotion of every last word."

Kellie Pickler & Derek Hough Win, Thanks To Fan Vote

Pickler came into the final "Dancing With the Stars" episode in second place but finished in first.

Fox News reports that the 26-year-old country singer won the show's mirror ball trophy Tuesday.

"This is amazing!" she beamed to her professional partner, Derek Hough.

The pair earned two sets of perfect scores Monday night and another on Tuesday. Judges' scores combined with viewer votes determine the winner.

Because there were problems with voting on the ABC website during Monday's East Coast broadcast, host Tom Bergeron said Tuesday those votes weren't counted. Only votes cast by phone, text and Facebook factored into the final count.

Teen Disney Channel star Zendaya danced perfectly during the final two episodes, collecting the most points from the judges, but she fell short of the title.

"I'm very proud and I'm very happy," the 16-year-old said after the results were read. "And I get to leave here with an amazing experience."

Football pro Jacoby Jones finished in third place. Fellow finalist Alexandra Raisman was axed at the beginning of Tuesday's episode.

"This has been the best experience of my life," the gold medalist said. "My whole life, all I've ever known has been gymnastics, so to try something new has been amazing."

The two-hour finale featured the return of the season's already-eliminated contestants: comedians Andy Dick and D.L. Hugely, Olympian Dorothy Hamill, actor Ingo Rademacher, reality stars Lisa Vanderpump and Sean Lowe, singer Wynonna Judd and boxer Victor Ortiz.

Judd opted to sing rather than dance on the final episode, while Hamill celebrated another chance to hit the ballroom floor.

The Olympic skater, who said she was motivated to join the show after watching fellow skater Kristi Yamaguchi, had to withdraw from the competition early in the season because of an injury.
Hamill danced again Tuesday, and Yamaguchi joined her.

"It's such an honor to join my idol out here on the dance floor," said Yamaguchi, the Season 6 "Dancing" champ.

Korean pop star Psy brought his unique moves to the ballroom by dancing along with his new single, "Gentleman." Pitbull and Jessica Sanchez also performed.

ABC announced earlier this month that the next season of "Dancing With the Stars" will air one night a week instead of two.

Kellie Pickler's Dance For Her Romance

Pickler told Ellen DeGeneres that she and her dance partner, Derek Hough, will dance to a very special song on Monday night’s Dancing With The Stars. In honor of the show’s theme of the week, “Most Memorable Year,” Pickler chose to dance to one from 2011— the year she married her husband, Nashville songwriter, Kyle Jacobs. Kellie and Hough will dance the rumba to “Say I Do,” a romantic ballad written by Jacobs for Pickler shortly before their wedding day – and to top it off, Jacobs will perform the song in person on the show Monday night with the help of the Dancing With The Stars house band.

“It’s going to be an 100 percent emotional moment, and I’m just hoping I can keep it together,” Jacobs says. “Kellie’s doing so well on the show, and she’s having so much fun. The fact that she’s dancing to this song, our song, means so very much to both of us… it honors the love that we have so much.”

When asked how Jacobs feels about his wife dancing with Hough each week, Pickler sweetly told Ellen, “My husband knows he’s always going to get the last dance.”

Kellie Pickler's "Bald Is Beautiful" Moment Of Sharing

Most country-music lovers who attended the 2012 Ram Jam all-star concert event in Nashville Saturday were just there for a rockin' good time. However, when American Idol alum Pickler took the stage, the evening took a remarkably emotional turn, showcasing a touching and personal moment between the star and her fans.

Right after performing her rollicking 2008 hit "Best Days Of Your Life," Pickler was approached by a woman in the audience who came up to the edge of the stage. Pickler knelt down and spoke quietly to her for a few minutes, then held the teary-eyed fan in a long embrace.

Pickler, herself appearing moved, announced to the crowd, "Her sister-in-law Kelly is a breast cancer survivor." Pickler recently shaved her head in support of her best friend who was diagnosed with the same condition, and has been advocating for cancer awareness as a result.


As the audience burst into applause, she added, "I'm gonna cry up here, thank you for sharing your story with me."

A male fan then called "Can I show you a picture, Kellie?" The singer walked over to the side of the stage and examined a shot on his cellphone. She then explained to the audience: "The gentleman was showing me a picture of his mother that had passed away with lung cancer. My grandmother that raised me and that I called mom--she died with lung cancer. She was diagnosed and died the very next morning."

"It's hard stuff," Pickler noted, addressing the fan in a faltering voice. "But your mother and my grandmother are upstairs partying--they're having a good time, they're not hurting."

Pickler then related to the crowd that a big reason why she loves country music so much is how it calls up strong emotions such as the ones witnessed that night. "I think the thing that makes country music so special is that behind every country song, there's a story," she said. "A story about someone's life, and what they've been through--good or bad. Maybe what they're going through now."
The 2012 Ram Jam concert was the culmination of the yearlong Ram Jam project, which spotlighted exclusive content from five country artists and earmarked funds for a variety of charities. The Zac Brown Band, Billy Currington, Brantley Gilbert, and Easton Corbin also participated in the event.

Kellie Pickler Completes 6th USO Tour

Pickler returned to the states last Wednesday (12/19) from what was her sixth USO tour overseas to perform for U.S. troops as part of Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey’s annual USO holiday tour.

“It’s always different coming here this time of year,” Pickler said, prior to her performance at Kandahar Airfield in Afghanistan on Dec. 16.

Other celebrities that joined her on the seven-day, four-country tour throughout the Middle East include  Ross Detwiler and Craig Stammen of the Washington Nationals, Matt Hendricks of the Washington Capitals and comedian Iliza Shlesinger.

All participated in an array of hospital visits and USO meet and greets, each tailored to bring a touch of home to the servicemen and women making the biggest sacrifice. Stops included: Bagram Air Base and Kandahar Air Field in Afghanistan, U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart in Germany; and a visit with Sailors stationed aboard the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis, among other locations.

“[During] the holidays, everyone wants to be home with their families and loved ones. And I know it’s just as hard for [your] families back home, so they’re making a sacrifice as well. I just want to say thanks so much for all that you do, and thank you to your families as they make a huge sacrifice. This time of year is really hard so I hope that you know that we love you. The USO, all of us, we are praying for a safe return home for you all. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”

It's A Wonderful Time Of Year For Kellie Pickler

Bid On Kellie Pickler's Truck, Help USO

Ram Truck continues its connection with country music by creating a 2012 "Road to the Ram Jam" concert series that will allow fans to see their favorite country artists up close and register for a drawing to win gifts and prizes.

Five concerts are scheduled this year, plus a year-end invitation-only Ram Jam concert in December.

The first officially announced concert will be with "American Idol" alum Kellie Pickler, who gets to use a fully loaded Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn for the year that will be auctioned off in 2013 with proceeds going to the USO, a nonprofit group dedicated to lifting the spirits of America's troops and their families.

She told the Chicago Tribute yesterday at the Chicago Auto Show: "The first thing I learned to drive was my grandpa's truck, so I'm definitely a truck girl. I'm excited to be part of Ram Truck's Road to the Ram Jam. We're going to have a lot of fun on that 'Road' — me and my Laramie. I'm also excited that we will be auctioning off my Ram truck at the end of the year to benefit our veterans in need."

Other concerts will be announced throughout the year, with each performer given a new Ram truck for auctioning at the end of a 12-month run.

The Band Perry And Taylor Swift On TV New Years Eve

TBP will be there live and Swift reportedly will be featured on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest as a highlight replay from 2009's rewind which was Seacrest's first year to take the mic from Clark, an ABC special airing Wednesday (Dec. 31).

The activities begin at 10 p.m. ET with Dick Clark's Primetime New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest, featuring performances live from Times Square, and continue with two parts of the usual New Year's Rockin' Eve airing at 11:35 p.m. and 1:05 a.m. ET.

Meanwhile, two-time Dancing With The Stars champion Julianne Hough will be in Atlanta to headline the music at the 20th annual New Year's Eve Peach Drop. Taking place at Underground Atlanta, the event will be co-hosted by country artist Rissi Palmer and seen on syndicated TV in more than 40 markets. Also in Atlanta, Jason Michael Carroll will be performing at Cowboys Concert Hall.

Christmas featuring Bublé, Pickler, and Twain

The NBC special, "A Michael Bublé Christmas," will air December 6.  Stories from New York suggest Kellie Pickler could be part of the show.  Pickler tweeted from New York recently and a makeup artist said she saw Pickler on stage with Bublé.

“Back stage with Michael Bublé and Kelly Pickler! They’re singing the cutest duet together for Michael’s Christmas show!,” Belinda Moss tweeted. 

The taping for the NBC special was November 4 in Brooklyn. 

Bublé recently released an album of holiday standards.  The CD includes a duet of "White Christmas" with Shania Twain among the 15 songs in the project. 

Pickler Grabs Her Some 100 Proof

100 Proof is the new album coming from Kellie Pickler in late January.  Pickler wanted to do something more akin to her North Carolina upbringing and grabbed veteran producer Frank Liddell to help make that happen.  

The first cut on the CD, "Where's Tammy Wynette", shows off a different kind of sound for Pickler.  Kellie wrote more than half the songs on the CD.

Kellie Pickler Performs With Billboard

Kellie Pickler will perform at the Billboard Country Music Summit’s closing party on Tuesday, June 7th in Nashville.


Pickler will play a short set that will include her new single, “Tough.”


About the song — the first single from her forthcoming, still-untitled third LP, due later this year — Pickler said, “When I heard that Leslie had written a song called ‘Tough’ for me, I just wanted to love it so much and I do! She knows me, she knows my heart and she captured who I am.”
The party will cap two solid days of music, business, conversation, networking and fun in the heart of Nashville.


The Billboard Country Music Summit — featuring Q&As with Carrie Underwood and Kenny Chesney and two days of programming that encompasses virtually all aspects of the country music business — is June 6 and 7 in Nashville.

Kellie Pickler Wants to Get 'Dirty' on Third Album

Kellie Pickler doesn't feel like the music she's put out so far really captures the essence of who she is musically -- which can be frustrating at this stage of the game.


"The past couple of years that I've been in Nashville since I signed my record deal, I've struggled to figure out where my place is," Kellie tells the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "There's a lot more to Kellie Pickler than the first two albums let you in on."


There has been excitement recently with Kellie and new husband Kyle, Kellie tweeted that Kyle planned a country picnic for them followed by a hot air balloon ride, but things took a turn for the scary when the balloon landed rather unexpectedly! "We just landed in someone's backyard in a tree," tweeted Kellie. "But we are ALIVE!!!! I felt like I was in the movie 'Up!'"


Kellie enjoys visiting her husband's home state of Minnesota, but says she and her mother-in-law often tease each other about their respective accents.


"I don't feel like I have an accent," says the North Carolina native. "So I always mock everybody there. Kyle's mom Sharon and I pick at each other about it. She tries to talk like me and I talk like her. We do get a lot of laughs out of where I came from versus where Kyle came from. We grew up eating grass on opposite sides of the fence."
