Dierks Bentley Drunk On A Plane

The Multi-Platinum singer/songwriter has landed at the No. one spot on both the Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase radio charts this week with country music's biggest summer hit “Drunk On A Plane.” It is the second consecutive No. 1 hit off his critically acclaimed album RISER on Capitol Records Nashville and the 12th of his career as both a singer and a songwriter.

“I think I knew even back when we were in the studio making this album that we were on to something special, but once you let it fly out into the world, you just never know what will happen,” said Bentley. "First, 'I Hold On' came out and really hit people in an emotional, personal way, and I was totally blown away by all the stories I heard and how impactful some of those lyrics were for a lot of people. And now, the reaction to 'Drunk' has just been crazy…two VERY different songs that the fans have taken and made their own. I'm just trying to live in every minute and soak it all in.  In the few quiet minutes I've got, I spend a lot of time thinking about how grateful I am to be here doing this and how many people have supported me and my music. Rolling Stone also recently included the track as one of the "10 Best Country Songs of 2014 So Far,” calling it the “best sing-along of summer.”  And E! handpicked Bentley’s infectious track to represent country music on their "2014 Official Songs of Summer" list alongside hits by Beyonce, Sam Smith and Ariana Grande.  Since takeoff, the track's hilarious music video debuted on FUNNY OR DIE and went on to score the most votes for "funny" of any music video in the web site's history.

After a summer of capacity crowds in amphitheaters across the country, Bentley will wrap the first leg of his headlining 2014 RISER TOUR in Nashville, TN with his ninth annual "Miles & Music for Kids” on Sept. 28. Dierks Bentley Travels Light

Bentley has spent his share of time on the road – whether “on a plane” or a tour bus. And after all these years of being a road warrior, he’s managed to boil down his absolute “must have” items to a pretty concise list. “You’ve got to have cold beer,” he says, and that means “You’ve got to have ice [and] you’ve got to have a red solo cup.”

The rest of Dierks’ list is pretty basic – sunglasses and a trucker’s cap. Equipped with all that, he’s “good-to-go” and ready to bring his Riser Tour to a city near you!

“I’ve got some pretty normal ‘must haves.’ I mean, you’ve got to have cold beer…which means you’ve got to have ice. You’ve got to have a red solo cup. Sunglasses are good. Trucker hat. That’s all I need.”

Dierks Bentley Is Having A Blast On His "Riser" Tour

Bentley is having a blast as headliner on his 2014 Riser Tour. In addition to his fans, he owes a lot of that enjoyment to his opening acts – Jon Pardi, Chris Young and Chase Rice.

“I think back to when I was opening for Kenny [Chesney], and Keith Urban was the middle act, and I was the beginning act, and what that felt like just to have that camaraderie of guys, you know, and to be able to talk about things,” says Dierks. “Now I got one step further. Now I got three other guys out there with me. So, just great guys at all different levels in their career. Jon Pardi…reminds me a lot of myself back in those days. He’s just running wide open and just [a] great Honky Tonk singer, funny guy, just makin’ the most of this time out there. And then getting to know Chase, who’s just a really great guy as well, too. You know, he’s kinda forged his own path through, really through social media, I guess; and then, Chris Young just one of the best singers in this town and a great guy. So, we have a lot of fun. They’re all great hangs, and I’m having the best time of my life out there.”

His next stop is Thursday (June 19th) in Newport, Rhode Island. On Saturday (June 21st), he joins pal Luke Bryan at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for the first of Luke’s stadium shows.

Dierks Bentley Talks Hosting 2013 ACM Honors

The Academy of Country Music recognized some of the industry's finest at the 7th annual ACM Honors awards show at the Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville Tuesday.

The show honored musicians, performers, and venues, and is a continuation of the Academy's awards show held every April in Las Vegas.

A rainy evening forced organizers to move the red carpet indoors, but fans still lined the outside of the Ryman Auditorium in hopes of seeing their favorite stars.

"We're just trying to get a glimpse of someone famous," said Janice Walters, a loyal country music fan. "We want someone to come by and talk to us."
 
Dierks Bentley hosted the event for the second year in a row, and said it's always something he looks forward to.
"It's so special as far as honoring who is who in country music, and not just who is current," said Bentley. "This is all about who makes Music City go 'round."

Other musicians agreed the event is unique.

"I love that we are taking a minute to honor people behind the scenes as well as people like George Jones and Keith Whitley," said Chris Young.

"It's really exciting to be honored and to be in a room with so many other great artists," said Charles Kelley with Lady Antebellum.

Some of the big winners were Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton, Lady Antebellum, and The Judds.  Keith Whitley and Hank Williams were honored posthumously.  The Ryman Auditorium was also honored as venue of the year.

ACM Honors will take place Tuesday, September 10th at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. The evening is dedicated to recognizing the special honorees and off-camera category winners from the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. Honorees include Special Award recipients Jason Aldean, Guy Clark, Blake Shelton, Tommy Wiggins, Lady Antebellum and The Judds. Keith Whitley and Hank Williams will also be honored posthumously.

Dierks Bentley Cohosts "The View" Friday

Dierks will make a stop in New York this week to co-host The View! The episode will air this Friday, July 26 at 10:00am CT on ABC.

Dierks will also reveal his new single with a first-time television performance of the new song off his forthcoming album RISER.

His "Country Cares" Concert including The Band Perry, Randy Houser and David Nail for families of the 19 Granite Mountain firefighters that died battling Arizona wildfires was held this past Monday.

The event, promoted by both KMLE/Phoenix and KAFF/Flagstaff, raised over $475,000.

Dierks Bentley Stands Up For The Fallen

The Arizona native will make a special trip back to his home state in two weeks to headline the Country Cares Concert, co-presented by CBS Radio Country KMLE/Phoenix and Guyann Country KAFF/Flagstaff, AZ. The show is scheduled for Monday, July 22 at Tim's Toyota Center in Prescott Valley, AZ and will benefit the families of those 19 brave members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots who lost their lives last week battling that massive Arizona wildfire. This unprecedented tragedy left 51 children without fathers.

"We want to make as much for those families as we can and hopefully start something that will continue on long after the music is over as far as remembering the firefighters and their families and these kids that live on as well," Bentley told Radio And Music Pros  "We want to help get something rolling to look after them and help them move forward."

Tickets go on sale at noon this Friday, July 12 at KMLE1079.com and at the Tim's Toyota Center box office. Fans and community members will have the chance to buy concert tickets and special VIP packages with proceeds going to the United Phoenix Firefighters Charities who will distribute directly to the families of the 19 fallen firefighters. "We hope this benefit concert gives everyone affected by this tragedy the opportunity to come together and heal," said KMLE PD Tim Richards. "We want to raise as much money as possible to help the families of these amazing heroes."

• Bentley made his first Festival appearance in 2003 at Riverfront Park. He has performed at LP Field seven times and has 10 CMA nominations to his credit including a win in 2005 for the Horizon Award.
• Reigning CMA Album of the Year winner for Chief, Church will be making his second, consecutive appearance at LP Field in 2013. He played Riverfront from 2006-2009. Church was the top CMA Awards nominee in 2012.

Eric Church Loves Levon

Platinum-selling Church will join some of music’s most revered musicians in celebrating the talent and legacy of the late Levon Helm at the “Love For Levon,” benefit concert at the Izod Center in Rutherford, NJ on Wednesday, October 3, 2012.

Dierks Gets His Own Signature Guitar

Dierks Bentley is getting a new guitar. It’s not just any old run-of-the-mill guitar, but his own Custom Signature Edition from Martin Guitars. He even helped design the instrument, as well.

“It’s kind of based on the song ‘Home,’ the record ‘Home,’ so there’s the herring bone right on the outside that’s red, white and blue. But it’s, you know, a little of Buck Owen’s influence there as well, because I’m a huge Buck fan,” explains Dierks. “There’s a phoenix on there says where I’m from and just the specs on the guitar, are kinda custom to how I like them.” 

Each guitar will also feature a special sticker with the singer’s signature.

Dierks is poised to enter the top of the country charts in the coming weeks with his smash hit, ‘5-1-5-0.’

Dierks Bentley Comes "Home"

The multi-PLATINUM singer/songwriter's forthcoming sixth Capitol Nashville studio album is titled "HOME," and will be in stores Feb. 7.

One of country music's most distinguishable voices, Bentley returns with a mainstream country collection for the first time since 2009.

“I definitely stepped away and explored some things that were more on the fringe of country music for a little while,” said Bentley. “So, this record feels fresh. It doesn’t feel like a continuation of any other project or series of recordings. I love being able to try different things musically, and I'm so thankful my fans have followed me to those places. But, I feel like my real 'Home' is in the center of country music."

Bentley stands out among his contemporaries as the only country singer who can claim performances from Lollapalooza to the Telluride Bluegrass Festival and Bonnaroo to the CMA Music Festival, a true artist carefully tailoring his sets to each. He’s a member of the Grand Ole Opry, and last fall was invited to perform "Home" for the President at the White House. This devotion to developing all sides of his musicianship took Bentley on a successful journey into bluegrass music last year with his acclaimed and GRAMMY nominated album UP ON THE RIDGE. And over his diverse career, the CMA "Best New Artist" winner has sold over five million albums, scored eight No. one hits at country radio and collected 10 GRAMMY nominations.

Bentley will return ‘Home’ for a special album release show at Nashvlle's historic Ryman Auditorium on Feb. 2. The second leg of the Country & Cold Cans tour will resume on Feb. 15 with the first dates scheduled internationally in Canada and Australia.

It's coming Home, February 7 is the sixth studio CD from Dierks Bentley.  The CD includes the number one song "Am I The Only One," as well as Dierks current single, "Home."

Ryman Auditorium will host a special CD release event for Dierks February 2.

Dierks will be featured on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Thursday night.  The first leg of the Country & Cold Cans Tour ends this weekend for the holidays.  Bentley will be back out on the road in February with stops in Canada and Australia.

Miles and Music For Kids With Dierks

Dierks Bentley will take his Miles & Music for Kids charity motorcycle ride and concert to Chicago on Oct. 9. 

Over the series’ six-year history, Bentley has raised over $1.6 million for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals and plans to donate the upcoming proceeds to Chicago’s Children’s Memorial Hospital.

The first-ever Chicago stop for Miles & Music will depart from the Fox River Harley-Davidson (131 S. Randall Rd., St. Charles, Illinois). The hour and a half long ride will end with a street festival outside of Joe’s Bar (940 W. Weed St. Chicago) for a jam-style concert featuring Bentley and friends Eli Young Band, Jerrod Niemann and more.

In 2009, Bentley joined forces with Nationwide Insurance, CMT ONE COUNTRY and the Children’s Miracle Network to take the successful “Miles & Music for Kids” benefit on the road, and has since visited five cities in addition to his annual Nashville event.

Dierks Bentley’s, "Am I the Only One," came from his real life.  

One part of the song isn't exactly true though.  Nobody turned down Dierks's invitation to party because they had to catch up on American Idol.  

"Am I the Only One" is the lead single from Dierks's new album, expected to come out later this year.

Bentley Said No To Apprentice Job

After Trace Adkins placed second on Donald Trump's NBC reality competition show, 'Celebrity Apprentice,' there was only one name that came to mind when asked to recommend a country star to succeed him: John Rich. And after John Rich won his season of the show, the one name he insisted to 'the Donald' could be as passionate a competitor as he was: Dierks Bentley.

But not likely Dierks will be the ‘Celebrity Apprentice’.

Dierks' just announced his Country & Cold Cans Tour, a 22-city trek that kicks off October 6 in Lacrosse, Wis. Opening acts include Jerrod Niemann and the Eli Young Band for the first leg of the tour.

Dierks' sixth studio album is expected to be released this fall.

New Dierks Coming In October

Dierks Bentley has been working long and hard on his next album, which returns him more to mainstream country.  Some Bluegrass sound will still be heard in Dierks's new album though.  

"It's tough coming off the Ridge album, 'cause it was such a special project" says Dierks

Dierks hopes to work in rock and modern country with the bluegrass sound on his new album. "I've been writing songs," he says. "I've probably written 50, 60 songs and listened to over two thousand outside songs. Started working on it in October and still have a ways to go."

Bentley The Stick Handler

Dierks Bentley is an avid hockey fan. He plays left wing and sports the number 7 jersey for the Nashville Iceholes during his downtime.


The Nashville Predators are not in the finals, but Dierks is still excited for hockey.


He tweeted to his followers recently, “#Stanleycup playoff time! cold beer in hand. life is good. #NHLplayoffs”.


The NHL and Dierks have put together a full length music video featuring his latest single “Am I The Only One.”
