Ronnie Dunn’s second album as a solo artist is being released today on his own Little Will-E Records in partnership with e-commerce retailer and Southern lifestyle destination Country Outfitter.
To support the release, Dunn will also be performing “Country This” on The View tomorrow (April 9). The show airs weekdays at 11:00 a.m. ET on the ABC Television Network.
Ronnie has earned many accolades throughout his more-than-20-year career, as part of country music’s most-awarded duo Brooks & Dunn and as an individual artist and songwriter. He had a hand in writing six of the 14 songs on Peace Love and Country Music, including “Let’s Get the Beer Joint Rockin,” “Romeo and Juliet” and “Country in Texas,” all of which he penned solo.
“I really wanted fans to have a say in which songs I put on this album,” said Dunn. “I put a few songs out on social media to see what people liked, or maybe what they didn’t respond to, and we built the album from there. Partnering with Country Outfitter just makes sense because they represent all aspects of the country lifestyle, and music is a huge part of that.”
The physical edition of Peace Love and Country Music is available exclusively at Country Outfitter, an e-commerce company and destination for Southern lifestyle apparel and entertainment. To purchase a copy, please visit www.countryoutfitter.com. Digital editions are currently available at all digital retailers.

Ronnie Dunn Visits Boys & Girls Club, Raises Funds For Kentucky Charity
“The most memorable thing was meeting the kids and a lot of the recipients and people that are involved [behind the scenes],” said Dunn. “It has to mean something, or it’s not worth doing it. It’s for me as much as for anybody else.”
Last year, he surprised guests at the Holiday Bash (a follow-up
fundraising event to the concert) and presented a check for $75,000 from
the show. The Holiday Bash 2013 will take place December 6 at the
National Corvette Museum.
On September 30, Dunn traveled to the area and paid special visits
to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Franklin-Simpson County and
Glasgow-Barren County, The Center for Courageous Kids and a local United
Way program. He participated in some of the organizations’ daily
activities, getting to know staff members and spending one-on-one time
with kids.

Ronnie Dunn Raises Funds For Operation Welcome Home In West Virginia
Dunn has toured around the world over the course
of his illustrious career, and in that time he has prided himself on
building an allegiance of fans. With their loyalty and support in mind,
Dunn decided to say ‘thank you for your support’ and asked his fans to
help decide where he and his band would play next. Dunn launched a
grassroots-based Facebook campaign for followers to suggest venues for
Dunn to “Play For Beer” during his off-days on the road.
After receiving an overwhelming number of pleas to play in
Morgantown, W.V., Dunn delivered an arena-level concert to a packed,
raucous audience at Schmitt’s Saloon on Friday, October 25. All proceeds
from the show were donated to Operation Welcome Home, a local organization that provides fellowship and resources for veterans.
Dunn explains, “We're calling it ‘Play For Beer,’ but it's really
about finding places that we can drop into on a whim, play and in turn
do something helpful for a worthy cause.”

Ronnie Dunn Surprises CMA Music Fest Fans With Rooftop Performance
Dunn
performed four songs on the rooftop patio of Rippy’s
Bar and Grill on lower Broadway as fans were
departing the Bridgestone Arena after watching the CMT Awards.
Dunn debuted four new songs: “Country This,” “Kiss You There,” “Cowgirls Rock ‘N’ Roll” and “Peace, Love and Country Music.” During “Kiss You There,” a flash mob took over Broadway for an impromptu dance to the delight of the crowd. To view the performance and flashmob, click here.

As Dunn told USA Today, "I'm more excited about where music is today than I ever have been. We no longer have to play by rules because there are no rules. The band and crew snuck in and set-up to ambush the unsuspecting crowd coming out of the CMT Awards. We don't have a clue what we’re doing, but we're having fun and working overtime to come up with unorthodox ways to get music to people who simply like music. I hope that those of you who rambled into the line of fire had a good time!”
Inside Rippy’s bar, Dunn gave away over 1,000 hangover patches for indulgent CMA Music Festival attendees.
In-between
tour dates, Dunn is writing songs and working on a new album expected
in stores this fall.

Ronnie Dunn, "Contemporary Rock Star"
His brand-new guitar-heavy single, “Let The Cowboy Rock” proves the songster has learned a thing or two over his iconic 20-year career about finding one’s own voice in music, including the fact that die-hard American country music knows no bounds.Fans eager for a sneak peak of the music video can click HERE. It was filmed partly in Pendleton, Oregon during the Pendleton Round-Up with rider Blake Knowles (lead character) with additional footage of Dunn shot in Salt Flat, Utah and Nashville, Tennessee with The Stage on Lower Broadway serving as a backdrop.

Dunn With The Cost Of Living
![]() |
| ronniedunn.com |
The song was originally called “The Application.” It tells the story of an un-employed husband and father trying to find work in a struggling economy. Dunn says the song had been “been pitched all around town” until it finally ended up in his hands a few years ago.
“There is a very unique story about ['Cost Of Living'], Dunn tells Country Music Is Love. “That song came to me in 2008. Phillip Coleman had written almost the entire song, all the verses and stuff. It didn’t have a title. It didn’t have a hook line [or] a chorus. I asked when I first heard it, if I could have a shot at it, ‘could you just give me two days. I won’t hold it up or anything.’”
Dunn says this is one of the songs on the album that he gets “most excited” about.
“This [song] is not manipulated, it wasn’t written to exploit the economy,” Dunn explains. “[Phillip] is out there working for a living, mowing yards to pay the way for his wife and daughter.”

Ronnie Dunn Is Crazy
Ronnie Dunn
's self-titled solo debut album is in stores this week featuring the top-10 hit, "Bleed Red." He began working on the project immediately after Brooks & Dunn's farewell tour wrapped up last year, but Ronnie admits he just couldn't get focused. "I just went crazy," Ronnie tells ABC. "I got involved in the chaos of all this songwriting and recording process."
Ronnie also got a tattoo on his forearm that says "Cowboy" around the time of Brooks & Dunn's last show.
All these changes made his wife Janine a little worried about him. One day, they were sitting on the back porch, and Janine warned him that she didn't want him to make a mistake by making impulsive decisions.
Says Ronnie, "She said, 'Why don't you stop writing for a while, and just calm down and go out to your little rock in New Mexico, stare off into the desert, and see if you can just find out what you wanna say, how you wanna say it, how you wanna sing it, how you wanna writing and come back and do that."
Ronnie says that advice was the ticket to finding the focus he needed to make his new album what it needed to be. He's selected the song "Cost of Living" as the next single from the project.
Ronnie takes his new music on the road again June 17th with a show in Burlington, Iowa.

Ronnie Dunn In Crisis
Ronnie Dunn showing up with a tattoo on his right arm that reads ‘COWBOY’ last year may have got Ronnie to think.
Dunn tells The Country Vibe, “It might have been a mid-life crisis, I don’t know.”
After explaining that his dad was always a cowboy, he says, “It was a point there at the end (of Brooks & Dunn) when it was all coming unglued for me, and I felt the need, for whatever reason, to go out there and proclaim to the world in a permanent way, that I’ve got as much of that cowboy in me as much as anybody. I don’t know why it felt important for me to say that, other than that’s it. I’ve tried all of my life to live up to the standards of being what my Father was, to the point of being the country singer he dreamed of being. Hopefully, that’s the worst thing that will come out of it, I’m okay…. Therapists are standing by.”

Kix Brooks Solo Album Half Done
![]() |
| Photo courtesy of Sony BMG Nashville |
“I’ve got probably half of an album done,” Brooks said. “But I’m actually growin’ a little scruff here. I’m fixin’ to start a new movie in a few weeks, and I just finished another movie which has kind of slowed down my recording process, but my label seems to be very supportive about my movie roles. They’re not in a hurry, and I’m not either, honestly.”
“The new movie is called ‘To Kill a Memory,” he continues. “They’re actually building a cast right now. The movie I just got finished with is called ‘Thrift Store Cowboy.’ It’s kind of a darker version [of the original]. It’s fun, it really is. I was actually a theatre major in college, so it’s really fun to get around to try to remember some of those skills.”
Brooks says he’s got nothing but kind words to send Dunn’s way, regarding this year’s solo ACM performance and the release of ‘Bleed Red‘: “I think he’s doin’ great. He’s doin’ good and I’m happy for him.”
“He was really ready to just take the time and run on into his solo career, and I’m a little more inclined to take a step back and scratch my head while I’m working on this. We’re not the same guy!” he adds.
Brooks says he’s thrilled to be watching the blossoming careers of the country newcomers whom he’s worked with thanks to ‘American Country Countdown.’
“It’s a little different, not touring with Brooks and Dunn after 20 years of doing it,” he admits. “But I’m still doing quite a few shows right now. I’m doing the on the road series with American Country Countdown, working with any number of different acts: Luke Bryan, Craig Morgan, Lee Brice, Thompson Square.”
If you happen to be one of those lucky new acts on the rise, Brooks has one piece of solid advice: “Believe in what you’re doing, and keep doing it. Perseverance seems to be the common denominator on anyone that’s ever made it.”
